What audiences are saying about her performances -

"Thank you for a great presentation with my management team at our conference. I lost track of the number of people who said how much they enjoyed your presentation - everyone could connect with the points you were raising.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you as a speaker" - Chris Ruston Center Parcs

"I loved your presentation on Tuesday at Center Parcs and wanted to write and tell you. I'm a Manager at CP and have had the fortune (and occasional misfortune) of attending many seminars, but yours was one of the few that actually made me really think."- Sam. Manager Center Parcs

" Jo Hampson came  highly recommended and she didn't disappoint! Her speech was not only thought provoking but also highly entertaining and humorous and much enjoyed by all who attended." - Ian Lewis-Dalby, Annual Rotary Charter Dinner

"We really enjoyed your speech.  It was inspiring, motivating and really made us think"  - International DA Conference and Awards, Barcelona.

"Just a quick note to thank you for your recommendation of Jo Hampson to speak at our Service User and Carer conference yesterday.  Jo pulled off a fantastic motivational speech to a diverse audience at very short notice and she worked hard with our conference organiser to ensure that she was getting the right message across. We have had some excellent feedback from our service users and carers and would be pleased to recommend her speaking services to any of your clients." - Kath Hughes Cumbria NHS Trust

"Jo Hampson was wonderful.  Everyone should be able to hear what she has to say. She is better then anything a Doctor can prescribe!" - Trustee - Cumbria Partnership.

“She was very good. She got us to think about something we wanted to achieve in the future and then asked us what action needed to be taken now to help it happen, I’ve taken that on board and set myself some goals.”- Mrs Jones, Carer.

"Excellent talk - it was just what was needed.  Really hit the button" - J Wilkinson - Cumbria Business Exhibition.

You were scintillating - brilliant!  You certainly made our day.  Very many thanks for being with us at one of our 'best ever' events. - British Red Cross AGM.

"As I spoke to members afterwards everyone that I spoke to said how much they had enjoyed your talk, simply one of the best that we have heard and one or two said the best they had ever heard anywhere"  - B Smallwood  - U3A

"We all felt that your talk was very inspiring and made the audience think about what they wanted from life.  The feedback was very positive - one of the quotes we particularly liked was 'the evening has given me the motivation to pursue my dream" - Sam Bramwell - Rural Women's Network.

Positive life message

POSITIVE thinking and empowerment were the themes of a mental health conference attended by more than 200 Cumbrians.

The event, at Rheged near Penrith, was aimed at service users, carers and staff from across the county.

The full-day conference was hosted by the Cumbria Partnership, formerly the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Trust.

As part of that new ethos, members were keen to hold an action-packed day which was much more than a meeting. Although the formal annual general meeting was held in the morning, the rest of the day was filled with fun activities and workshops.

Organiser Sue Cowperthwaite, a carer from Cockermouth, said the Recipe For Life conference was all about making positive choices.

Guests included motivational speaker Jo Hampson, a theatre company, a life coach and the popular West House drumming band Our Voice. Participants were able to get involved in banner making, creative writing, tai-chi and massage sessions. There were also information stalls about services available in Cumbria.

Mrs Cowperthwaite, whose daughter has learning disabilities, said it was a really positive event.

“I was involved last year but much more so this year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was so much going on,” she said.

Mrs Jones, who also cares for her husband, said it was beneficial to exchange ideas and discuss problems. She also enjoyed listening to the motivational speaker. “She was very good. She got us to think about something we wanted to achieve in the future and then asked us what action needed to be taken now to help it happen,” she said. “I’ve taken that on board and set myself some goals.”

Cockermouth service user Kevin Twigg added: “This was the first time I’d been and it was unbelievable. There was so much going on, I’ve never seen anything like it.

“Full credit goes to the organisers for doing such a good job.”
