Jo Hampson and Georgina Perkins

Life-Change Consultants and experts in helping you regain your work/life balance, live your life a different way or downshift.

Most importantly Georgina and Jo have downshifted themselves.  Through Stepping Off they have worked with many other people who have either downshifted or changed their lives.  They have a lot of experience in change, moving from a management background, they bought and ran their own food production business and now run their own consultancy.

Jo Hampson and Georgina Perkins

Georgina and Jo together have over 45 years business experience - in both the public and private sector.  They are trained to a high level of business management and have experience and training in:-

  • Course management
  • Training
  • Facilitation
  • Mentoring
  • Negotiating skills
  • Life Coaching
  • Assertiveness skills
  • Project management
  • Business management

They work with a consultant psychologist, who is also an experienced trainer.

Not to mention their wealth of experience in 'stepping off'.  They can even help you with how to keep chickens.

In addition to the courses run at Castle Court, Jo and Georgina also work in the corporate sector running seminars and training programmes for organisations. Here they specialise in motivational change management and inspirational change through their company soTraining.  Jo is also in demand as a motivational spreaker to both small and corporate events.

Over the past 30 years Jo and Georgina have each enjoyed a portfolio of careers.

Jo Hampson first trained as a teacher at Durham. For 20 years she has worked in different Public Sector organisations reaching an executive managerial position. She has worked in several organisations including leading a change management programme for a large organisation in Australia.

Jo not only runs Stepping Off but she also works as a facilitator and trainer.  During her time in Australia she worked closely with the Spokeswomen’s Network, a government run network for women in the public sector.  Here she gained a reputation as an inspiring and motivational speaker and was in demand to address audiences from management training programmes to international conferences. She has addressed the Royal Society of Arts and has had speeches published. Today Jo speaks at many venues not only on professionally related subjects but also on her philosophy of life, her life’s experiences and is motivational in helping people 'grasp life with both hands and live it'

Georgina Perkins entered a career in the Public Sector where she has worked for two different organisations. Here she gained experience in a wide variety of positions broadening her skills base and attained a senior management position.  Today Georgina is a partner in Stepping Off but she also helps small businesses with book keeping and financial management.

A few years ago both women were on track to reach the highest levels of their organisation when they ‘stepped off’ leaving it all behind and bought a small business in Cumbria. The Old Smokehouse at Brougham Hall in Penrith. Through intelligent marketing, increased production and an emphasis on quality and customer service they created a very successful business and increased the turnover 300% in three years. They sold the business and have now stepped off again to run their own consultancy company.

Stepping Off is designed to draw on this wealth of experience; to share their own journeys and inspire and motivate others who may wish to get their life balance back into perspective or who wish to ‘Step Off’.
